Identity theft can happen to anyone, anytime. The cause could be a lost purse or wallet - or you may never know how it started. But if a criminal accesses your personal informaiton and uses it, the result may include fraudulent credit card charges or withdrawals from your account, erroneous debts or contracts, damage to your Social Security earnings or medical files, or even a wrongful criminal record. Through the following steps, ID Reclaim can help you recover from these or other identity theft scenarios.
Step 1: Contact your participating financial institution immediately. A representative will take you name and contact informiaton, confirm that you are covered, then initiate your recovery case with the recovery care service provider.
Step 2: The recovery care service provider will contact you directly to provide support, offer counseling, and - most importantly - begin the recovery process. You will have a one-on-one personal recovery advocate assigned to your case.
Step 3: The recovery advocate will begin the recovery process right away - placing fraud alerts on your file, ordering a credit report from all three agencies, and taking other actions to stop the damage. You may be asked to sign a limited power of attorney authorization, which will enable the recovery advocate to fully manage the details.
